Terms

What this site is, and what it is not.

Short terms, in plain words. They cover reading these pages and being treated at 36 Engineer Lane. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you.

Information

Reading a page is not being assessed. The assessment happens in the chair, with your history in front of us.

This site is information. It is not medical advice.

We write these pages carefully and we keep them current. They still describe treatments in general, not you in particular.

Nothing here is a diagnosis. Nothing here tells you a treatment is right for you. Only a consultation can do that, because only a consultation looks at your skin, your medication and your history.

If you have a medical concern, see a doctor. If a treatment on this site interests you, book a consultation and let us examine the question properly.

Prices

A published price is a real price.

Every price on this site is correct at the time of publication. We publish the whole tariff on the prices page so you can work a course out before you commit to one.

Prices are in pounds sterling. There is no VAT in Gibraltar, so the figure shown is the figure you pay.

Your price is confirmed in writing at consultation, before anything is agreed. That written figure is the one that binds us.

Where a price reads “from”, the final figure depends on the area treated or the product used, and you will be told it before you decide, not after.

We may change published prices. A price already confirmed to you in writing does not change underneath you.

Agreeing Treatment

A treatment is agreed in four steps, and never fewer.

01

You book.

Booking holds a slot in the diary. It does not commit you to a treatment and it does not commit us to giving you one. No deposit is taken and no card details are held.

02

We consult.

We take a medical history, look at the skin or scalp in question, and tell you what we think. Sometimes what we think is that you should wait, or go elsewhere, or do nothing.

03

You are given the plan and the price in writing.

What is proposed, how many sessions, what it costs, what the risks are and what the aftercare involves. You are entitled to take that away and think about it.

04

You sign consent.

Written consent, given by you, for the named treatment. Only then does the treatment go ahead. Consent can be withdrawn at any point, including mid-course.

Where a treatment requires a patch test, a valid test on file is part of step four and there is no way around it.

We May Say No

A clinic that cannot say no is only a shop.

We may decline to treat you. That is a feature.

We will decline where a treatment is not safe for you, where it will not do what you are hoping for, where your expectations cannot be met by what we have, or where you are being asked to spend money on something you do not need.

Being turned away costs you nothing. Consultations are free, and finding out that the answer is no is a perfectly good outcome for a consultation.

We may also decline where a medical condition, a medication or a recent sun exposure makes treatment unwise that day. Being told to come back in two weeks is not us being difficult with you.

Results

Results vary. Nothing here is a guarantee.

Skin is individual. Hair growth, hormones, pigment, age, medication and how closely aftercare is followed all change what a treatment does. Two people can have the same course and get different results from it.

Any figure, range or timescale on this site is typical, not promised. We will give you an honest expectation at consultation and we would rather set it low than sell it high.

Where a course is bought up front, you are buying the sessions. You are not buying a stated outcome, and no clinic that is being straight with you would say otherwise.

Injectables

Why the injectables page carries no prices.

Anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and several of the skin treatments we offer are prescription-only medicines. Prescription-only medicines cannot be advertised to the public. That means no price, no brand name and no photograph of a result, anywhere a member of the public can read it.

This is the law, not our preference, and it applies to every clinic. It is why that page reads differently from the rest of the site and why the prices page has one row without a number in it.

You will be given the price in writing at your consultation, before anything is agreed. Nothing is hidden from you. It simply cannot be published.
